Off the River: Salmon Valley Honey
As the owner of Solitude River Trips, springtime is often a hectic blur of preparation, anticipation, cleaning, re-cleaning, and fiddling with gear that I can hardly wait to get wet. But one of my favorite pre season chores is going to get the honey!
Salmon Valley Honey is located in the agricultural heart of the Lemhi Valley, where they press, treat, drain, and bottle their honey. Owned by Dan and Lisa Mudd who have hives along the Lemhi and Pahsimeroi Rivers of central Idaho.
Last time I was there I learned about eating honey comb!! Taking a teaspoon of the honey, comb, wax and all every morning will help strengthen your respiratory system and your immunity to bee allergy.
