Reservation and Cancelation Policy

Solitude River Trips is a small, family run company that operates solely on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River with limited launch dates each summer. Thank you for understanding that we must adhere to our strict reservation policy due to the following factors: we have very few seats to sell; we have to turn away potential guests hoping to fill the seats you have reserved; these trips involve high expenses that come far in advance; and the high risk nature of operating with a commercial permit on public lands.

For these reasons, we HIGHLY recommend purchasing trip insurance!

Solitude River Trips only recommends CANCEL FOR ANY REASON (CFAR) travel insurance policies. If you decide to cancel your trip, a CFAR policy is the only way to get any portion of your travel expenses reimbursed. If unforeseen circumstances force you to change your plans, or we are forced to cancel the trip (see below), a CFAR policy may be able to reimburse you. Whenever purchasing travel insurance, ask if there are any exclusions for your home state. We can recommend the Global Rescue Signature Plus CFAR insurance provided by Global Rescue. Please note that insurance policies must be purchased within 20 days of making a reservation.

“Cancel For Any Reason” optional upgrade

Deposits and Payments:

We require a deposit of 25% of your total trip price to confirm your reservation. If you cancel your reservation 12+ months prior to your trip date we are able to offer you a 100% refund of your deposit less a 4% processing fee. If you cancel your reservation less than 12 months prior to your trip we are unable to offer you a refund of any deposits or payments.

Final trip balance is due, in full, 120 days prior to the date of your trip.

Replacing Yourself With Another Guest:

If you are unable to attend the trip you may find someone to replace you so long as they meet our Essential Eligibility Criteria. Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to replace yourself. We need to gather information about your replacement, such as dietary restrictions, which may alter our trip preparations.

All deposits and payments are non transferable to other trip dates.

Force Majeure:

In the rare event that we must cancel your trip due to Force Majeure*, no refunds will be issued, however we will work with you to reschedule you on a future trip date.

*Force Majeure means any event or circumstance that prevents us or our suppliers from conducting ordinary business operations and is outside the reasonable control of us or our suppliers including acts of God, epidemics and/or pandemics, landslides, mudslides, logjams, rockslides, explosions, fires, storms, hurricanes, tornados, high-water washouts, low-water conditions or drought, lightning, earthquakes, floods, or other severe or unusual weather conditions, or similar cataclysmic events, and any other cause or causes, whether of the kind herein enumerated or otherwise, not within the reasonable control of us or our suppliers.
